Trains to la Plagne (Aime La Plagne)

Eurostar trains are available direct to the Alps, either daytime or overnight. All trains can be booked with Rail Europe although it is very frustrating to find that some trains in France can only be booked 60 days or less in advance. Some tour operators will offer these trains as part of packages for ski holidays to La Plagne.

As with flights, you get no financial protection when travelling this way. You may get financial protection when booking with a tour operator but you should check this out: look for AITO operators as they offer 100% financial protection.

When booking a train it is easiest to say you are going to Bourg St Maurice: it is the same price and the tickets will often show this as the destination. Get off the train at Aime la Plagne. For Eurostar trains direct to the UK, on the way home it is best to board the train at Bour St Maurice – there is no scanning equipment at Aime. Leave plenty of time for the scanning process at Bourg.

For Champagny la Plagne you should use Moutiers station.

There are plenty of buses from the train station particularly at the weekend. Sometimes it is necessary to change at Plagne Centre – depends which resort you are going to.
