La Plagne 1800 provides a great centre for a family ski holiday in La Plagne. Plagne 1800 is one of the nicest and prettiest of the high altitude ski villages in the la Plagne ski area: it is set amongst the views and there are fabulous views across the valley.
There are plenty of catered ski chalets in Plagne 1800; there are a few luxury ski chalets in the wooded area above the village and some new ones next to the Plagne 1800 chairlift; cheaper ski chalets are found in the wooded area as well as in the village itself. In Plagne 1800 none of the apartment buildings are higher than about five floors and even these are built against the mountain to reduce their visual impact.
Plagne 1800 is well served by three ski hire shops and a small supermarket.
Plagne 1800 caters well for most disabled skiers and their families, both for ski accommodation (wheelchair access is unavailable) and disability ski tuition. The best source of information is the Ski 2 Freedom Foundation: it is an international snow-sport portal providing disabled people with a comprehensive information resource on locations for Alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski areas, resort information and winter activities.
Ski & Snowboard Access: The ski acess to Plagne 1800 has improved significantly in recent years. There are now three ski runs to the village and the Plagne 1800 ski lift is a 4-seater; even at the start of ski school queues are now small. A number of the catered chalets are ski door to door.
A new chairlift has been installed a few years ago from the ESF ski school meeting point, this has doubled the capacity out of Plagne 1800.

The best catered ski chalets in la Plagne 1800 are run by Ski Beat who also offer childcare in their own creche, for afternoons only or with their own private nannies. There are plenty of reasonably priced self-catered apartments available – see accommodation section.
Apres Ski: Nightlife is limited: the most popular bar is La Mine where there is often a live band and a great atmosphere. There is a free bus service to Plagne Centre that runs until just after midnight for further pubs and restaurants.
For a touch of relaxation after a day of skiing or snowboarding around la Plagne there are a couple of mobile massage service operating in the resort. Massage Me therapists will come to your ski chalet to provide that extra bit of holiday pampering that you are after, or Pamper Off Piste are great for mobile physiotheraphy, osteopathy, massage and beauty services in the comfort of your chalet or holiday accommodation.
Hire Shops: There are three ski hire shops in the village of Plagne 1800.
